Mental Health & Wellbeing

We can live a satisfying and meaningful life in periods of extreme adversity and even pain. 

The goal is to build resilience which is emotional, physical, and psychological adaptability and flexibility.  This requires going beyond just surviving, instead doing what needs to be done to live to our fullest potential, whatever that potential is in the context of our lives.

 

By promoting our emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing we can live each day in such a way that the focus is not only on our suffering but the moments of inspiration, fulfillment, and joy that is simultaneously present.

 

The reality is, tumultuous periods can cause stress and sabotage our mental health and overall wellbeing.  See if you identify with any of the signs of mental illness.

 

SIGNS OF MENTAL ILLNESS:

  • Decreased energy levels

  • Inability to experience enjoyment, pleasure, or joy

  • Experiencing increased levels of worry and anxiety

  • Experiencing increased levels of stress

  • Inability to sleep

  • Feeling overwhelmed,  hopeless and helpless even in day-to-day tasks

  • Not taking action

  • Isolating from family and friends

  • Feeling overwhelmed around people

  • Unable to function at work

  • Changes in eating habits,  either eating too little, overeating or not at all

  • Feeling depressed or suicidal

  • Apathy
